Why some authors, including this one, are terrible at self-promotion
Well, here’s something rude. I’m going to invite any of you who live close to Wheaton, Illinois, to come to an event I’m doing at the public library there TONIGHT. (Nothing like giving people notice, right?) Then I’m going to make a confession.
First, here’s the information you need in case you’re not busy tonight and want to come:

I would like to say I’ll be giving away cars, but of course you know and I know that that’s not going to happen. A girl can carry only so much. What I will be giving away is a copy of one of the “happy” books called STILL HAPPY. (The “happy” books, MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY, STILL HAPPY, and HAPPY TO BE HERE) are collections of popular facebook postings of mine, and I’m glad to say that people have told me they are very much comforted by these books—some keep them by their bedsides. Lately, I have begun to think about living my life in a more purposeful way. It might be a function of my age or the times in which we live (the YIKES! years, I call them), but in either case the result is the same: I want to be more mindful of what I’m doing, and how it makes me—and others—feel. As much as possible, I want to steer my life and work toward the coordinates of hope and joy.
