Well, if you WERE sitting out here on the porch with me, I would invite you to have a piece of Trader Joe’s hand twisted cinnamon sugar bread which is so good it’s kind of ridiculous. As you are NOT here, however, I will soon go and have another piece in your honor. Thank you very much.

It’s very quiet on the porch this morning. When I first came out, all I could hear was the low, nearly sleepy-sounding chatter of birds. Then came the sound of a siren and, as always, I wondered who was in the ambulance, and why, and I said a little prayer for them that they would be all right, and I wondered if I were in an ambulance if I would ask them to turn off the siren because it makes me anxious.
