Out for a walk, remembering a simple kindness
Also a report on my recent attempt at socialization. Ahem. D+?
Recently I attended a lecture given by a man who had recently traveled in Africa. One of the things he did there was to take a hot air balloon ride offered to him by the Massai tribe. They flew low, so that the man and his wife could see the animals below them better. It was very exotic and wonderful-seeming, and I felt a pinch of jealousy and also a kind of regret, knowing that I will probably never do anything like that. Which is a very good reason TO do it. But I can hardly get myself organized enough to take a trip to Boston, let alone Kenya.
Anyway. When I took my walk today, I looked up at the sky, at the clouds (pictured above), and I thought, don’t they look like sheep, though? This is probably because of the photos I had seen that the man had taken from the hot air balloon. It was the best I could do for pretending that now I too was on such an adventure.
It’s always a good idea to inspect the sky -art of the day. No matter what the weather, the sky is always an inspiration. And a reminder of the importance of perspective. Speaking of the importance of perspective, here comes my report on my attempt at the socialization.
