When I was a girl singer

Not that this post is only about that

Okay, this is NOT what my band looked like when I was a girl singer. Anyone with a discerning eye will see that this is a very good job of photoshopping. My genius friend Phyllis, rocker to your left, is the one who created this image, just for fun. The woman on the right is my other bestie, Marianne. I am in the middle, wearing something I never would have worn in my life, more’s the pity.

I was in a band, but I was the only woman in it. (They called me the girl singer—in fact that’s what the ad I answered was asking for: Girl singer wanted to join established rock band). I sang with four guys, all of whom were really fine musicians, and it was a job I’ll never forget. Not that it felt like a job at all.
