My favorite part of almost any menu is the appetizers. And every time I go out to eat, I think, why don’t I just have appetizers? But I never do. I dream of having an appetizer only party, and what with the new year and all, maybe I’ll do it soon. If I do, this will be my entry. So simple and so good!
Spread a tube of softened goat cheese on a large pretty plate. Cover it with fig jam. Cover that with black olive tapenade. Serve it with torn bread— one of those take and bake baguettes works well. Or you can use crackers.
Voila!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm….Will put this on my list of things to make.

I'm an appetizer and dessert gal - in my next life I will start every meal with dessert and follow it with appetizers.
I have had many parties where the guests bring either an appetizer or dessert.
There is a fabulous restaurant called Cafe Maxx that is my very favorite. It's pricy. The menu changes daily based on what is fresh and in season. We used to go with another couple (both mates have passed away) and the husbands would do the starter, main and dessert while the two of us women would share appetizers and dessert. Maybe a half portion of a pasta if it was interesting enough. My favorite meals.
