I just now realized that you commented on your own post, then commented on your own comment. It's the sort of playful and quirky thing I would do, so I kind of like it. But please don't tell anyone.
Love the poem, by the way. It captures the essence of one of the sweetest joys in life--someone to wonder how we are, and when we'll be home.
Hi, Jayne! Thanks for your comment! I was having technical problems with FB; it was really frustrating! Then I was offered this platform, and I think I'm going to really like it. I appreciate so much that you might subscribe, when the time comes.
Wow, that's so sweet and fragrant with the beauty of a soft breeze. Thank you for sharing this! I am a poetry lover too, and always love how calming it is to my soul. I hope your substack is successful, I recently launched mine as well and am just trying to keep it all from the heart. I encourage you to do the same. Thanks for this, keep posting such soothing messages and you'll be on fire. God bless!
When we didn't "hear" from you on FB for such I long time, I kept logging into your blog hoping to get an update on what was happening and, why we weren't hearing anything from you. I googled you and found some news that your newest book about Arthur Truluv would be coming out this month and made the assumption that might be the reason why. I hope you decide to make this your avenue for staying in touch with us, your many fans. If you do I will, of course, be a paid subscriber. I am, after all, your #1 fan!! (HA! I thought that for years until I was told a few years ago you had a Facebook page - there I discovered tens of thousands who felt the same way I did!)
I didn't love poetry when I was a young girl - I found out when I was in my 40's that I have attention deficit disorder - wish this had been known when I was in school. I now have the tools to help me concentrate so I can learn.
I'm taking poetry classes with two retired school teachers. We get the poems day before so we can read them before class. One of the teachers makes poetry come alive for me and I look forward to each class.
This week the email had poems written about The Iliad and I couldn't understand them because I knew only a small part of the story. She told us a lot about the story and the different characters mentioned in the poems and then read each one, allowing for discussion after each reading. The poems came alive for me and I loved them!
It's wonderful being able to learn new things at this stage of my life!
Oh my goodness what a wonderful and reassuring poem!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
You're so welcome!

The smell of crushed mint—my coat over my nightgown—my favorite kind of poem. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you for your “gift” of this poem !
Just what I needed today 😍
I start every day with a few poems...this was a welcome addition to my afternoon!
Thank you! I'm not very tech savvy, but I'm going to try to use this!
We'll learn together!
